EU citizens, who bring weapons to Sweden (This does not apply to Nordic citizens)
Swedish weapons legislation is under review and a new law will come into effect on June 1, 2026. It is then hoped that it will be sufficient to show an EU firearms pass when entering with a weapon. But right now, it is still required to apply for an import permit from the police authority. In addition to being expensive, it can also take a few months to process this.
Therefore, there is uncertainty about whether one dares to wait, so to those of you who apply for an import permit and pay for it, I offer you 500 SEK discount on the registration fee as compensation. Links to current documents can be found on this page. Also, do not forget the customs declaration.
